Coach's Perspective

Venue Finder

However well-intentioned our vision, there’s no getting away from the fact that a football franchise without friendly, dedicated coaches is a bit like asking Wayne Rooney to play every Saturday in a pair of lime green wellies.

Fortunately we’ve enough well-tuned coaches to make National Express go green with envy, because, as we all know, enthusiasm and energy are no substitutes for a CV brimming with the right blend of physical fitness, hard earned coaching qualifications and a deep-seated appreciation of working with children.

Our outgoing coaches come from all walks of life, ranging from sports students and teachers to purposeful parents wanting to try something a little different.

We are delighted to share a bench with such polished professionals, which is why we’d like to give up the rest of this page to a leading Little Kickers coach to provide his own personalised perspective on what our team can offer.

FROM THE DUGOUT

I joined Little Kickers as an Operations and Coaching Manager in January 2008, after completing my Bachelor of Science at WITS Uni. Classes were set up soon there after. Little Kickers football coaching sessions was launched on the 29 March 2008, in Fourways.

Having been a footballer for 12 years, I have always had a passion for teaching others especially on a football field. Throughout varsity I specialised in the football, always attending football coaching clinics, getting coaching and refereeing certificates and participating in regular football testing of children of all ages. After many months of searching for a part-time job, I found the perfect part-time coaching opportunity with Little Kickers, coaching children aged 2-6years old, later becoming my full time job.

Working with children, especially our Little Kickers is a very rewarding experience, the rate at which children learn is phenomenal and really motivates me to continue. Knowing that I not only contributed to the child’s physical and mental well being, but also improve the Little Kickers’ families quality of life is the most rewarding part.

As I coach, I hope to be able to share my knowledge and skill with many others to follow in my coaching boots, and more importantly share my knowledge with little footballers coming through Little Kickers’ doors.

I love being part of Little Kickers and will continue coaching for as long as I possibly can.

Shari
